OverlayOptimizer: New popup feature added to OptimizePress

OptimizePress has just announced a new feature release. This brand new feature is called OverlayOptimizer, and it is intended to increase the engagement and commitment of your visitors.
The OverlayOptimizer is used to create a lightbox with any OptimizePress elements inside of it. That means that, if you´re using OptimizePress either as a theme or as a plugin, you will now be able to place a lot of different things inside popup overlays, the most typical application being popup opt-in forms to engage your visitors.
As OptimizePress claimed that this new feature is very easy to use, I wanted to give it a try. So I updated my OptimizePress plugin on one of my dev sites to the current 2.1.9 version and followed this easy steps to create a new popup:
- On the desired page, we launch the LiveEditor, select the OverlayOptimizer from the element browser and choose a button or image to trigger the popup.
- Now in the OverlayOptimizer content section we simply need to add any elements we want to include on our popup window, and then all we have to do is just save it and get it published!
In my case I first created a two-step opt-in form by selecting the “Optin Box” element and then choosing the desired style from the provided catalog of included predesigned opt-in forms:
This new feature is very useful, but not just for creating opt-in forms. You can use the OverlayOptimizer to create a lot of other engaging elements for your site, such as:
- Custom overlays that contain video (for example training or in-depth content videos).
- Popups to show more detailed information on your product or service.
- A popup order box with an order button and purchasing details.
- Any kind of overlay containing images/video/text.
You can even drop in custom HTML to the overlay, so the applications of OverlayOptimizer are really only limited by your imagination.
For example, this is a video popup I was able to create in just some seconds:
OptimizePress is one of our Top WordPress Themes (currently ranking #8 in our top list) and it is considered to be the essential WordPress theme for marketers.
James Dyson and his team are doing a great job with it. After releasing OptimizePress 2 back in August 2013, they keep continuosly improving their product, first with the addition of a “one click” feature to clone any element or row on a page, then with a new “copy and paste row” feature for super-fast page creation, and now with the new OverlayOptimizer.
